Eligibility Criteria of Maastricht University Scholarship 2024:

  • All applicants must be under 35 years of age as of 1 September 2024. 
  • Applicants must possess citizenship in a non-EU/EEA country, Switzerland, or Surinam, and meet the prerequisites for getting an entry visa and residency into the Netherlands.
  • Applicants should not hold dual nationality from an EU/EEA country.
  • They must have applied for admission to a full-time master’s program at Maastricht University (participating programs will be indicated in October 2023) for the academic year 2024-2025.
  • Furthermore, applicants must satisfy the specific admission prerequisites of the respective UM master’s program to which they have applied.
  • They must not have previously enrolled in a degree-seeking higher education program in the Netherlands. Applicants who have engaged in exchange programs in the Netherlands are eligible to apply.
  • Moreover, applicants should have outstanding academic results in previous education programs supported by their latest grade transcript or verified through official documentation of academic excellence.
  • Remember that this scholarship is highly competitive, and only 2% of applicants are selected to receive the award; therefore, having a strong overall profile is important.

  3. If any program requires a handling fee or application fee, students must pay it themselves. The scholarship will not cover the handling fee.
  4. After applying through Studielink, you will receive a student ID number. That student ID will be used to complete the scholarship application.
  5. Log in to the UM account and fill out the scholarship application form (the form shall be available in October 2023).
